Albany Muni, billygoats, bogies at Institute
A free talk, ”Bogies and Billygoats: A History of the Albany Municipal Golf Course,” is planned Thursday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at Albany Institute of History & Art, 125 Washington Ave., Albany.
The “Muny” was a course people loved to hate, but for thousands of Albany residents it proved an introduction to the game of golf. Join area author Eric Bryant for a brief look at the history of golf in the Capital Region and the history of Albany Municipal Golf Course through the eyes of those who played, worked and caddied there.
Thursdays, 5 to 8 p.m. are now free nights at the Albany Institute. For information, call (518) 463-4478 or visit http://www.albanyinstitute.org/event/product/LECTURE-AND-BOOK-SIGNING-Bogies-and-Billygoats-A-History-of-the-Albany-Municipal-Golf-Course.html
