Annual classic boat show in Lake George
More than 50 antique and classic boats will gather for the 43rd annual Lake George Classic Boats Rendezvous on Saturday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the village public docks on Beach Road, Lake George.
Antique, historic and classic boats from early 20th century and sooner will be on display.
Examples are rare restored award-winners, including mahogany speedboat runabouts, early double-ended launches, classic Chris-Crafts, Hacker-Crafts, and Gar Woods, early outboards and classic, restored mid-century fiberglass models.
Children can get a free ride around the waterfront in “Adironduck,” a 1950s Chris-Craft 10-foot Racing Pram wooden kit boat replica.
On Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, a few boats will be displayed at Rogers Park, Bolton Landing.
The show is sanctioned by the Antique and Classic Boat Society and organized by its Adirondack Chapter. For information, call (518) 321-2108 or visit http://www.lakegeorge.com/event/boat-show-51985/.
