Art Saves Animals auction helps Safe Haven

The 11th annual Art Saves Animals 2015 will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Arts  Center of the Capital Region, 265 River St., Troy.

Live and silent auctions of handicraft items and works by national, regional and local artists will benefit the Safe Haven Program for victims of domestic violence.

In partnership with Unity House and Equinox, this program allows victims of domestic violence to shelter their pets at the Humane Society while they work to re-establish their lives after leaving the abusive relationship. As October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month,  this event  highlights one of the programs of which the Humane Society is  proud.

WNYT Channel 13 Meteorologist Jason Gough is emcee of the event. The evening will also feature a cocktail reception.

To register, visit http://www.MohawkHumane.org/asa2015 or call (518) 434-8128, ext. 206.
