Artist tours offered at Olana starting June 13
Special artist-led tours to highlight the “River Crossings: Contemporary Art Comes Home” exhibition at the Olana State Historic Site will be offered every Saturday from June 13 through Oct. 31 in Hudson.
Offered by the Olana Partnership, the tours will feature a diverse group of artists who work in multiple mediums and live and work in the Hudson Valley. Throughout the season, 11 artists will deliver 21 tours.
Individual artist tours will focus on specific rooms, landscapes, art and objects of their choosing, which is a departure from traditional house tours. Artists have been given “poetic license” to talk about Olana and the exhibit’s concepts and connections that inspire them.
