Did you ever watch the Academy Awards when they were presenting the Best “Live Action” Short Film or Best Short Animation Oscars and say to yourself…”where are these films, and why haven’t I seen any of them?” Well, the
“The Asbury Short Film Concert” has been offering the opportunity to see gems of Animation, Comedy, Drama, Documentary and Experimental award categories in a real theater format on a big screen since 1980. The Asbury show is like a trip to the best film festivals in the world where you sample the elite of the short film genre but without competition and plenty of live surprises.
The Abury Short Film Concert is a touring exhibition of award-winning short films specially selected from major U.S. and international film festivals.
The program features films that have won Academy Awards or “Best of Show” honors from such festivals as Sundance, Chicago International, Aspen Shorts, The Berlin Film Fest, Melbourne and South by Southwest.
Asbury’s purpose is to present these highly entertaining films to the general public in a real theater setting and not on an iPod or computer. Live music performance and an occasional celebrity guest host enhance the Asbury Shorts experience.
