Author discusses new book at Mansion

The Albany County Historical Association’s Holiday House 2017 at the Ten Broeck Mansion, 9 Ten Broeck Place, Albany,  features many holiday events. They include:

On Sunday, Dec. 3, noon to 3 p.m., the Mansion’s Open House will start the holiday season. Bring your camera to take a picture of your children with Sinterklaas. Admission is $5, adults; $1, ages 11 and younger.

Thursday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m., a lecture, “Inventing Santa Claus,” by author Carlo DeVito, and a wine tasting from Hudson Chatham Winery. Cost is $5, free for ACHA members.

Saturday, Dec. 9, 1 p.m., Holiday Tea will be served in the formal dining room, then stroll through the decorated rooms and hallways. Enjoy a visit from Sinterklaas. Admission is $25; $20 for ACHA members. Pre-paid reservations are required.

Sunday, Dec. 10, 2 p.m., Musicians of Ma’alwyck will present a concert of holiday chamber music, directed by Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz. Enjoy light refreshments and a stroll through the mansion.  Cos is $25, $20 for ACHA members. Reservations are encouraged.
