Ballet shoe sculptures part of Spa City Center’s 30th-year celebration

As part of the  Saratoga Springs City Center 30th Anniversary celebration, four fiberglass sculptures of ballet pointe shoes are on display in the grand lobby, high above the floor, as a dancing-in-the-air exhibit.

Included are  the golden “All That Glitters” shoe and the magical mirrored “Believe In Your Dreams” shoe,  a testimony to dance and Saratoga’s treasured National Museum of Dance.

Visitors can view the shoes Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 30. The City Center is located at 522 Broadway.

Each shoe was commissioned in 2013 by a sponsor and designed by a local artist, part of 26 five-foot ballet en pointe shoes created  as a fundraiser for the National Museum of Dance.

The public is encouraged to plan a visit to view these stunning works of art and celebrate the City Center’s 30th Anniversary, as another opportunity for “Bringing People Together.” For information, call 584-0027 or visit http://www.saratogacitycenter.org and http://www.saratoga.org/whats-happening/single-event-community?Id=ab4176b4-a9a3-e311-8215-00155d08fa13&entityName=new_communityevent.
