Beaver moon walk in Schodack
Enjoy a free, family-friendly walk under the nearly full Beaver Moon on Saturday, Nov. 12, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Schodack Island State Park, 1 Schodack Island Way. Meet at the Riverview Pavilion to walk two miles of easy terrain at a leisurely pace and stop to view the illuminated Schodack Creek. Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.
The Beaver Moon got its name from the time to set beaver traps before the marshes froze, ensuring warm fur for the winter months.
Complimentary hot chocolate will be served at the end of the program.
Registration is suggested; call the park office, 732-0187. Visit http://nysparks.com/events/event-results.aspx?pk=146/.
