Book illustrator presents program at library

Take a Child to the Library Day is Saturday, Feb. 7, a national day of celebration of libraries and a way to spend quality time with children as you both explore the local library.

This year, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 7, the Voorheesville Public Library, 51 School Road, Voorheesville, will host Albany artist and illustrator Elizabeth Zunon, who will share her process of illustrating children’s books. Attendees in K through grades 5 will make their own artistic collages to take home. Zunon’s books include “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” and “One Plastic Bag.”

The program is funded through a special legislative project from the New York state Education Department. Register by calling 765-2791. Visit http://www.voorheesvillelibrary.org/.
