Bowling benefit assists pets of AIDS patients

A Bowling for PAWS fundraiser takes place Sunday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Playdium Bowling Center, 363 Ontario St.,  Albany.

PAWS, a program of the Damien Center, provides assistance with veterinary bills, transportation,  help in caring for pets when pet owners with AIDS are too ill to do so, as well as providing pet food  and supplies. Event organizaers say the Van Benthuysen Trust will match donations made by every new PAWS donor up to a total of $5,000 at the event.

Teams or individuals who raise more than the $25 individual registration fee or the $125 team registration fee will be given free admittance to the event. You may also register to participate by simply buying a ticket online at the website listed below.

Fabulous prizes and fun – all to help Pets Are Wonderful Support – a program of the Albany Damien Center that helps keep people living with HIV/AIDS and their pets together, when they need each other the most.
