Bronck Museum offers 2-day winter tour
The Bronck Museum’s Chilly Willy Winter’s Eve tours will be offered Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. at the museum, 90 County Route 42, off Route 9W, Coxsackie. (From Thruway Exit 21B, Coxsackie: South on 9W 3¾ miles; turn right on Pieter Bronck Road).
During the cold-season tour, observe ancient, but now mostly forgotten celebrations of Martinmas, St. Nicholas Day and St. Lucia Day. The Bronck houses will be decorated for the celebrations. Visitors, led by a costumed guide, pass through rooms which approximate the temperatures and light levels during winters in the 1700s.
Swedish and Dutch refreshments will be served. Seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adult admission is $8, $4 for GCHS members and children.
