CanalFest celebrates Erie Canal heritage

The Mabee Farm CanalFest, a celebration of all things Erie Canal-related, will take place Saturday, July 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  at 1100 Main St., Rotterdam Junction.

Visitors are invited to discover the impact the Erie Canal has had on our region’s culture and heritage, and explore the recreational opportunities along the canal today.

Festivities will include storytelling, music, games, canal-themed crafts, vendors, tastings, blacksmithing and cooking demonstrations inspired by the Erie Canal, tours of the historic Mabee house, and the grand opening of the exhibit unLocked: Discovering the Erie Canal in Schenectady, featuring historic and contemporary photos of the canal.
