Celebrate summer at Dyken Center

Programs in June  are being offered at Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center, 475 Dyken Pond Road, Grafton.
Celebrate the first day of summer with a strawberry moon  Monday, June 20, from 7 to 9 p.m.,  with Ian Keefe as he leads a guided kayak paddle, or take a hike with Leonard Tremblay at the same time. Kayaks can be rented for $10 or you can bring your own. The full moon in June is called the strawberry moon because the short season during which strawberries can be harvested happens in June.
Enjoy Music Under the Trees featuring the Hill Hollow Band on Friday, June 24, 6 to 9 p.m., as the group plays a variety of instruments. Bring a lawn chair. Light snacks will be available for sale. Donations are welcome.
The third Annual Let’s Move Day will be Saturday, June 25, and will encourage families to enjoy nature with activities like kayaking, nature walks and geo-caching. Attendees can also try fishing. A guided nature hike for all ages will begin at 1 p.m. Kayaks will be available 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The first Junior Naturalist Program of the year will be Wednesday, June 29, 1 to 2:30 p.m., when  all ages can learn how to identify 10 bird species by sight and sound and how to use binoculars in the field. A short hike around the center’s trails will be included.
