Discover the Pine Bush on guided tour
Discover the Pine Bush on a 1.0-mile guided tour over rolling sand dunes on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, 195 New Karner Road, Albany.
Cost is $3 per person; $5 per family; younger than age 5, free.; 25 registrations are allowed.
Pre-registration is required for all events. Visit https://www.albanypinebush.org/events/detail.cfm?id=1510/. Plan to arrive at least five to 10 minutes before the start of the program to purchase your ticket, or purchase tickets in advance of the program at the Discovery Center reception desk.
The Albany Pine Bush is the best remaining example in the world of an inland pine barrens. Discover Pine Bush natural history, seasonal surprises and transformations. Wear sturdy walking shoes, long pants and bring drinking water. For all ages.
From I-87 take Exit 2W (Route 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Route 5 for about two miles then turn left onto Route 155 (New Karner Road). Continue on Route 155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located on the left at 195 New Karner Road. Phone (518) 456-0655.
