Environmental film series at Madison

An environmental film series is under way  at the Madison Theater, 1036 Madison Ave., Albany, curated by Albany’s Sustainability Advisory Committee and University at Albany Graduate Students for Sustainability.

Tickets are $8. A mixer is set for 7 p.m.

“Gasland”: Nov. 16. Josh Fox’s 2010 fracking expose. With local documentary.
“Urbanized”: Nov. 24. Gary Hustwit’s 2011 documentary on urban design.
“Chasing Ice”: Dec. 15. Jeff Orlowski’s 2012 film tracking photographer James Balog’s efforts to document climate change.
“Idle Threat: Man on Emission”: Jan. 26. George Pakehnham’s film about his crusade to stop engine-idling New Yorkers.
“Connected by Coffee”: Feb. 15. Aaron Dennis’s documentary about the brew, the bean and its growers.
“GMO OMG”: March 7. Jeremy Seifert’s critical 2013 look at genetically modified organisms and Monsanto.
“The Human Experiment”: April 11. Don Hardy Jr. and Dana Nachman’s documentary on household chemicals.
“The True Cost”: May 1. Andrew Morgan’s study of the environmental effects of fashion.
