Farming, from horses to tractors, is talk topic

Farming in the transition days from horses to tractors will be the topic of a program on Aug. 20, 2 p.m., at the Esperance Historical Museum, Village Commons, 123 Church st., Esperance.

John Van Derwerken of Central Bridge Farms will lead the program and answer questions. Van Derwerken, 90, is a local farmer and museum board member.  Farming equipment including the large S.K. Campbell threshing machine will be on display.

A meeting of the Esperance Historical Society and Museum will follow. Participants are invited to bring a covered dish to share. Homemade ice cream will be served after the meal.
