Free lunchtime Zumba in Albany park
A free lunchtime Zumba workout is open to all Tuesday, July 28, from noon to 1 p.m., in Academy Park across from City Hall in Albany.
Exercise clothes are encouraged but not mandatory for the free musical exercise session. Picnic lunches are encouraged.
The rain location is the rotunda in Albany City Hall.
The instructor, Cassandra Carter, leads the free Zumba in the Park series that is part of the city’s 1609 Challenge. The healthy summer activities are held in Albany parks and facilities for people of any age. For a full schedule of 1609 summer activities, visit the city’s website, http://www.albanyny.org/.
The 1609 Challenge allows participants to earn points toward prizes at the Allympics at the end of August.
Regular Zumba classes in August are from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays at Westland Hills Park (rain location, Arbor Hill Community Center) or 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Lincoln Park Fitness Center (also the rain location).
