Great Sacandaga creation is subject of talk

Saratoga County Historian Lauren Roberts will discuss the new documentary, “Harnessing Nature: Building the Great Sacandaga,” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m., at the Summit at Saratoga, 1 Perry Road, Saratoga Springs.
The early history of the Sacandaga Valley, including  how the waters of the Sacandaga and Hudson rivers flooded with runoff every spring damaging local homes and businesses, are told in the film produced by the Sacandaga Lake Advisory Council with support from Roberts, County Planning Director Jason Kemper and Queensbury-based filmmaker Peter Pepe.
Copies of the documentary will be available for $20 following the talk.
Admission is free; seating is limited. For reservations, call 518-430-2136 or email rebeccad@summitsaratoga.com/. Refreshments will be served.
