Guided walk planned at Cohotate Preserve

Take a guided walk of the Cohotate Preserve in Athens on Saturday, Aug. 1, 1 to 3 p.m., led by Justin Wexler, a historical ethnobotanist and environmental educator.

This hike is sponsored in conjunction with the current exhibition at the Athens Cultural Center: “Taking Root: Caniskek and the Meeting of Two Worlds.”

Wexler will explore how the Mahicans understood their world and their local land use.

Participants should meet at the preserve parking lot on Route 385, halfway between Catskill and Athens.
Wear appropriate walking shoes.

For more information, call 945-2136 or visit http://www.athensculturalcenter.org/.
