Historic home, garden tour in Claverack

The Columbia-Greene Garden Party  will be held Sunday, Aug. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ludlow Homestead, Claverack.

The historic home tour and garden party will be hosted by Peter Spears and Brian Swardstrom to benefit local programs and services provided by the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York.

Attendees can see the restored interior of the 1786 home and tour the grounds, which have been returned to the design prominent in the 18th century. Two 1796 portraits of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Ludlow by William Ruardy will be on display.

The event will feature local spirits and a Hudson Valley Farm-to-Table menu by chef Ric Orlando. A silent auction will have many one-of-a-kind items.

For tickets, call Donna Vancavage, 434-4686, Ext. 2428, or go to http://www.aidscouncil.org.
