Historical Society series celebrates women

The Greene County Historical Society presents its annual Olga Santora Ph.D. Women’s History Series on Sunday, April 3, beginning at 2 p.m., at its Vedder Research Library at the Bronck Museum, Route 9W, Coxsackie.
In a panel discussion, four Greene County women will share their experiences of military service during World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq-Afghanistan wars.
Among Greene County women noted for their service is Ruth Reynolds (1918-2007), shown in photo, a pioneering aviator who served during World War II with the Women Airforce Service Pilots.

Admission is free, but donations will be taken to support the Beecher Scholarship, a $1,000 annual scholarship awarded to a Greene County senior high school student who writes a paper related to Greene County history.
