Iceboating on Hudson is topic at Olana

“Iceboating on the Hudson River Then and Now” will be explored from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Olana State Historic Site, 5720 State Route 9G, Hudson.
Weather-hardened ice yachters cling to the traditions of a centuries-old sport on the Hudson River.
Brian Reid from Hudson River Ice Yacht Club will present historical photos of ice boats, and set up his ice boat for viewing in the parking lot (weather permitting).
The documentary, “Against the Wind,” will be screened, including a discussion with the filmmakers Tomasz Gubernat and Christopher Nostrand and producer Rahul Chadha. Refreshments will be served.
The program is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Snow date is Feb. 7.
The talk is part of the Armchair Travel Series, a collaboration of the Olana Partnership and the Friends of Clermont.
Register at http://www.olana.org/education/ or call 518-828-1872, Ext. 105.
Walk-ins are welcome.
