Leatherstocking Honor Flight is talk topic

Greg Furlong, president of the Leatherstocking Honor Flight, will discusss the volunteer group that transports veterans to Washington D.C. to visit memorials that honor them.  The talk will be held Jan. 17, 11 a.m., at The Summit in Saratoga. For reservations, call 518-430-2136.

The next flight for the group which has a current focus to honor World War II, Korean War vets, and terminally ill veterans from all wars  for their sacrifices, is April 21, 2018. Leatherstocking Honor Flight, one of more than 100 established ‘hubs’ in the national Honor Flight Network,  is a chapter of the National Honor Flight Network serving  veterans  in the Greater Capital District of New York and surrounding counties, as well as Western Massachusetts and Vermont. Guardians fly with the veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping Veterans have a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience. Well-wishers and supporters are invited to the Albany International Airport to celebrate both the departing and returning Honor Flights.
