Light up the Fourth at Empire State Plaza
This Fourth of July, enjoy great food, entertainment and the best of fireworks in Albany. New York State’s 4th of July Celebration presented by Price Chopper and Market 32 at the Empire State Plaza lights the skies on Monday, July 4, with activities happening 3 to 10 p.m.at the Empire State Plaza, Albany. Admission is free.
The festival begins at 3 p.m. with great food, drink and live entertainment to keep you busy before the fireworks start. The annual event features live music and fun for the whole family, including the best fireworks show in the region. Each year, more than 30,000 people gather to enjoy the day at the Plaza, which includes a naturalization ceremony, dozens of food and craft vendors, activities for kids, and an evening of live entertainment leading up to the big pyrotechnics show. Price Chopper has presented this Albany tradition since our country’s bicentennial celebration in 1976.
The Boogie Wonder Band is on the forefront of the bands that capture the fun of the ’70s., with spectacular costumes and a very solid set of musicians.

3 p.m.: Wecome & Naturalization Ceremony
4 p.m.: The Primetime Band
5:45 p.m.: Saved by the ’90s
7:30 p.m.: New York State’s Fourth of July Celebration Official Program
8 p.m.: Boogie Wonder Band
9:15 p.m.: Fireworks.
Traffic and parking in Albany get crazy on the Fourth of July, so make sure you show up early.
