New Year’s Day bird count at Five Rivers

Join local bird experts on Monday, Jan. 1, 9 to 11 a.m. for the 37th annual New Year’s Day survey at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, 56 Game Farm Road, Delmar.

Seventy-one different species have been found at Five Rivers on Albany’s “First Morning,” during the I Bird New York: New Year’s Bird Count.  The birds found over the decades of this long-term study show interesting range changes for many species.
Binoculars are helpful but not necessary. Dress warmly. If severe weather is forecast, call the Center at 518-475-0291 on Saturday, Dec. 30 to confirm if the event will be held. Contact Five Rivers Environmental Education Center
518-475-0291 or 5Rivers@dec.ny.gov
For additional information, visit  http://www.dec.ny.gov/education/1835.html/.

Five Rivers is
unable to accommodate organized groups (scouts, schools, hiking clubs, etc.) at  public programs. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to schedule a separate program for your group.
