Paws in the Park community walk at Siena
Paws in the Park Walk and Community Day is planned Saturday, June 27, with events from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Siena College Campus, 515 Loudon Road, Route 9, Loudonville. Volunteers are needed.

Be one of the first to own a signed copy of ”Great Dogs of Albany and Beyond,” by author Paul Grondahl and Times Union readers. The Times Union publication features photos and stories by Grondahl and dozens of readers writing about their beloved dogs, along with a chapter on historical dogs of the Capital Region, including Owney, the Postal Service dog; Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s Boston terrier, Ozzy; and, of course, Nipper and other notable canines. Books are $25 each and proceeds benefit the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

Walk with your dog, with a team or
just come walk and enjoy fun things to see and do
while you raise funds to help homeless animals and win prizes. All dogs must be on leashes, six feet in length maximum. All dogs must have current rabies tag/dog license. Walk only as far as you and your dog are comfortable. Pet and people drinking water will be available along the way. Pick up after your pet. You don’t have to walk a dog to participate. Cat lovers might consider walking in honor of your cat by pinning a photo of your cat to your shirt.
Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. with Zumba warm-up from 9:30 to 10 a.m. with Star Renzi. Blessing of the Animals at 10:15 a.m. before the walk steps off at 10:30 a.m. Contests begin after the walk at 11:30 a.m., including best pet summer costume, best trick, and parent/pet look-alike. at noon, awards presentation will be held.
Modified race car and driver Keith Flach will visit
and the Kids Zone will offer Balloon Gal Jenny, JoJo’s Fabulous Faces, Duct Tape Art and FunFlatables of North Greenbush.
An Empties for Animals Bottle Drive will be hosted by Goldstein Auto Group in front of Siena Hall. Drop off your recyclable cans and bottles to help the animals.
Dance to the sounds of Grand Central Station until 1 p.m. Displays will feature Albany County CART (County Animal Response Team) and
Albany County Sheriff Department’s K-9 George.
