Polish-American culture, heritage and traditions will be highlighted at the Dyngus Day Celebration of the Casimir Pulaski Society of the Upstate New York Region on Monday, April 6, at noon, at the Rotterdam Elk Lodge 2157, 1152 Curry Road, Rotterdam. Dyngus Day dates back to 966 and commemorates Poland’s conversion to Christianity and the baptism of Prince Mieszko. It also marks the arrival Easter and spring.
The society gives to the community by collecting and shipping items to our troops serving overseas, donating toys to underprivileged children, through its educational gift program for high school seniors of Polish descent and other local causes.
