Robert Burns celebration supper in Albany

The seventh annual Robert Burns Supper will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 6 to 9 p.m., at the Celtic Hall Cultural Center, 430 New Karner Road, Albany.

The traditional Scottish buffet is $55 per person or  $450 for a table of 10.  The event honors Scotland’s most famous poet who was born Jan. 25, 1759. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the evening will start with drinks, individual pipers playing, a set from the Brigadoons, an  “Address to the Haggis” and  short poetry reading of one of Burns’s poems. The dinner will include  performances by pipers, the Braemar Highland Dancers, followed by dessert and coffee and another set by the Brigadoons. 

The supper is presented by the  Capital District Celtic Cultural Association.
