Salt effects on body patient seminar topic

A free patient education seminar presented by St. Peter’s Health Partners will be held Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to noon, at Mercy Auditorium, St. Peters Hospital Campus, 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, across the street from St. Peter’s Hospital.

“What’s the Deal with Salt?” is the talk topic which discusses how salt impacts the body. Learn about low-sodium alternatives, how to read a food label and recommended guidelines for sodium intake.

The program is intended for patients, family members and significant others living with heart failure. Speakers are Amy Avery, BSN, RN, Advanced Heart Disease Center, St. Peter’s Hospital; Jamie Epting, MS, RD, lead dietician, St. Peter’s Hospital, and Debbie Petridis, MS, RN, ACNP-BC, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Heart Disease Center, St. Peter’s Hospital.
