Stroke program for EMS providers
The Best Aproach for Early Identification and Treatment of A-Fib and Stroke is the topic of an educational opportunity Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at Mercy Conference Rooms 1-4, St. Peter’s Hospital, 31 S. Manning Blvd., Albany. For the event, designed specifically for providers in the field in celebration of EMS Week, St. Peter’s Health Partners will honor EMS providers with a gourmet dinner and the free educational opportunity.
Registration and dinner begin at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Introduction and Case Presentation by Samuel Bosco, M.D., FACEP, Emergency Medicine, St. Peter’s Hospital, will be followed at 6:45 p.m. with a Review of Pre-Hospital Protocols for Atrial Fibrillation, Stroke and Chest Pain/ Myocardial Infarction by Donald Doynow, M.D., FACEP, EMS Coordinator, St. Peter’s Hospital.
At 7 p.m., Atrial Fibrillation: Pathogenesis and treatment by Guillermo Sosa-Suarez, M.D., director, Heart Rhythm Center, St. Peter’s Hospital, will be followed at 7:30 p.m., by Stroke in the Setting of Atrial Fibrillation by Lawrence Corbett, DO, Neurology, St. Peter’s Hospital.
At 8 p.m., a question and answer session will be held.
