Sunday Salons at Thomas Cole House
Sunday Salons at the Thomas Cole House, 218 Spring St., Catskill, a monthly lecture series featuring speakers who are experts in matters related to the Hudson River School, are under way. This year’s speakers for the series which runs through April, will address the topic of Cole as architect. On Sunday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m., Robert D. Loversidge, Jr., FAIA, will speak on Thomas Cole and the Ohio Statehouse, perhaps Cole’s largest artwork. Loversidge was principal-in-charge of the 10-year restoration project at Ohio’s National Historic Landmark Statehouse.
The lectures will be held in a new building called the New Studio, designed by Cole.
Lectures are $9, or $8 for members, followed by a reception. Call 943-7465, or visit http://www.thomascole.org/.
