Visit butterflies, native plants at Farnsworth

The Farnsworth Middle School Butterfly Station, a free, student-run butterfly house and native plant garden, is now open to the public Monday to Friday through Aug. 12. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  on school grounds at 6072 State Farm Road, Guilderland.
This is the station’s 18th year of operation. Visitors can walk among the butterflies and watch how butterfly species grow in the metamorphosis room, make free butterfly projects in the craft room and enjoy the interactive butterfly exhibits in the museum room.

Students lead guided tours, maintain the gardens, educate others and raise the butterflies in the butterfly house. They also manage the interactive museum, craft room and gift shop.
