Visit rare Kerry calf at Shaker site
Tralee, the first Kerry calf born in the United States this year, will greet visitors at the Shaker Heritage Society, 25 Meeting House Road, Albany, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Tralee is owned by longtime supporter, volunteer, and former board president Robert Reilly and is only one of 50 Kerry cows in the nation, according to the heritage site.
The dairy breed is indigenous to Ireland and one of the oldest European cattle breeds.
Tralee, who shares a name with a town in County Kerry and a golf course, will be in the pasture at the Shaker Heritage Society, across from Albany International Airport.
