Woman’s Club events aid ‘Feed and Read’

The Woman’s Club of Albany will hold its 11th annual winter fundraiser, “Celebrate the Season,”  with two events in its historic 1895 building at 725 Madison Ave., Albany.
The Holiday Tea will be held  Saturday, Dec. 2,  2 to 4 p.m., with teas from Divinitea, catered by The Healthy Cafe. Admission is $30.
The Holiday Gala will be held Dec. 8, 6 to 9 p.m., catered by The Healthy Café. Admission is $75. Music will be provided by “Mixed Company.” Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine, live music and a silent auction are planned.
Proceeds will benefit The Woman’s Club of Albany and the Traveler’s Aid Society’s “Feed and Read” Program.
Reservations are required for both events. For information, call 518-465-3626 or visit http://www.womansclubofalbany.com.
The “Feed and Read” Program, formerly the Albany Weekend Backpack program, is a community-wide response to hunger in the Albany school system. Starting with 14 packs of food in 2014, it currently provides 625 children with food for the weekends of the school year.
